Artists and Entrepreneurs to Unite at Creative Fidelity

ARTISTS AND ENTREPRENEURS TO UNITE AT CREATIVE FIDELITY

Stagira Studios’ inaugural event aims to inspire a new generation of art collectors in Austin, Texas

AUSTIN, TX (March 10, 2010) – Stagira Studios, LLC, is fine art production + brokerage + exhibition.  The organization’s initial goal is to promote a culture of art collecting and raise awareness of the breadth and depth of art and artists in Austin seeking direct relationships with local collectors. Stagira Studios is presenting and hosting Creative Fidelity, an intimate gathering of the cultural, creative and entrepreneurial-minded community, opening Tuesday, March 16, 2010. The art exhibition is both an attempt to unite two similar groups, artists and entrepreneurs, in order to foster growth of Austin’s visual arts economy and inspire a new generation of art collectors.

Founder of Stagira Studios, LLC, and co-creator of the art exhibition, Cynthia Fedor, describes the impetus for organizing such an event: “…Speaking with many of the local artists and arts organizations, we discovered that supply for original art in Austin is plentiful but the group creating demand could use some nurturing. We need to embolden a new, young, forward-thinking community of collectors; otherwise, local artists come to realize their market is not in Austin and the community suffers a creative and economic loss when those artists move away. Surveying over four hundred people, we found individuals that want to collect art. They just don’t know how to navigate the arts community and start a dialog; or, they’re inhibited by the myth of high cost, inhibited by a lack of education and experience as to how to begin collecting on a budget. This event is a way to eliminate the barrier for entry and expedite communication, support, and exchange. We have an opportunity to have the soul of our cultural community reflected back at us and drive local exchange and velocity, a renaissance. This is that opportunity.”

Artists are Entrepreneurs; Entrepreneurs are Artists… Symbiotic Support through Exchange.

Creative Fidelity is open to the public and will take place March 16th through 21st, 2010 at 2235 E. 6th, Austin, TX 78702. The exhibition will feature programming throughout the week designed to educate and inspire new art collectors. Additionally, artists will have the opportunity to hear from peers who have found success in marketing their art and who are making an impact in the creative community while driving local cultural capital.
